We had an excellent stay! Property was clean and in great condition. Location was quiet & convenient. Service to correct minor WiFi connection problems was prompt & courteous. We've stayed at Martinique many times and have always had a great experience.

The property was clean, inviting and stocked adequately. Kitchen could use a bit more storage. The front office staff, maintenance people and security were always pleasant and professional. We will be coming back.

We were a little worried after reading the recent review, but we loved the house. It was clean and looked like it had been fixed up recently. And we were super excited to be able to bring our dogs to the beach with us. The only thing is that the golf cart seats are a little raggedy, but it still worked just fine. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely LOVE Martinique on the Gulf. It’s getting more difficult each year to find dog friendly rentals (homes, cottages). We rented Sans Souci this year, it’s dog-friendly. The house was clean and cute. It was poorly stocked- no extra blankets at all. We couldn’t even find a pen to make a grocery list. Now, whether it was poorly stocked by the owners or renters are taking their things, I don’t know? The internet never worked with the TV- so no Netflix. The televisions are small and it’s a little difficult to watch from the recliner in the living room. The furniture in the living room is uncomfortable. The toilet in the master bath runs all the time. There was no salt or pepper there- I left ours for the next people. I realize they’re not obligated to leave salt and pepper but most of the houses do have that. (We stayed at Ambrosia last year which was very nice but no longer accepts pets.) The golf cart is a little worn out. There is no ice or water dispenser in the door of the refrigerator. Things that were good were the many windows, especially in the master bedroom and en suite. They’re pretty private even with the blinds open. I’m a sunlight girl!! The location is fine- near the front of Martinique. The golf cart did run well for us. There were no problems with the oven, garbage disposal, washer/dryer. The front office is always willing to assist the guests with a smile.
Basically, treat it like you’re camping and bring your own pillows and extra blankets, seasonings, etc. Martinique On the Gulf is fantastic no matter what house you rent!

Cute place, needs some maintenance

We loved this location, the layout and the general atmosphere! We have been Martinique visitors and enjoy the place each time. There was some maintenance needed here, from the screen porch (door was difficult to open) to the golf cart, which was very torn/worn. The staff was amazing as always, and we appreciated the property - very clean and friendly.

Charming property with only some minor drawbacks. The property is close to the street, so closed blinds are needed for privacy. The "starter kit" of amenities could use some upgrading; one dishwashing pak and one soap bar per bathroom. We arrived the afternoon before Thanksgiving, and the office had closed, and the parking pass and wifi code had not been left in the unit, with little recourse. Fortunately, I had the phone number of one of their reservationists, and he helped as well as he could. But it was strange to have no method to contact management after our arrival. The guard on site also did his best to help, but did not have sufficient knowledge or authority. If there had been problems in the unit that were not easily remedied, we'd have been in trouble until the office opened again on Friday. This could be easily remedied by communicating the contact phone of a manager on charge, assuming there was one.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were well kept as always. We had a great time and would highly recommend this cottage unit to everyone.
The unit did not have a grill as advertised so we had to make different provisions for food we had purchased.
The security of the grounds could be better, Numerous evenings we observed golf carts not equipped with lights driving down main road in complete darkness.A lot of the cart drivers were clearly not licensed operators.

We've stayed at Martinique several times, and Sans Soucci is a new favorite. It was perfect for our stay. Incredibly comfortable and delightful in every way. We usually stay closer to the beach, but the golf cart ride through the neighborhood was so pleasant it ended up being a plus.

We stayed in San Souci, and it was very nice. We liked the location and the size. The unit was clean, and we especially enjoyed the screened porch. We have stayed at The Martinique for the past nine years and have always had great accommodations and service.
The only complaint I have is that for what we are paying, the owner could have at least left us coffee filters and salt and pepper as others have done.

Location reminds you of nicer Destin and Hilton Head locations. Staff was impeccable, so wonderful to work with. Would suggest more supervision in middle pool, multiple family squabbles/ safety/noise issues witnessed. Beach Staff very helpful, nice to small kids. Absolutely on the list to return!

We had a lovely time in Sans Souci. A few repairs would be helpful-- the burners on the stove are very crooked, a couple of the remotes do not work, the coffee maker is quirky, and there is no peeler.
