Fourth of July Gulf Shores
Spend the day celebrating the 4th of July at Downtown OWA, an entertainment and shopping center that also has an amusement park. All-day long on the 4th there are events for the whole family, including live music and entertainment followed by the area's biggest fireworks display at 8:45 pm. Blue Angels Practice
Watch as the iconic Blue Angels take flight to practice their act that is sure to amaze adults and kids of all ages. The Blue Angels practice their routine from the Naval Air Station in Pensacola Florida, which is just a short drive away. The gates open at 9:30 am and the hour-long performance starts at 10:30 am. Hang out in the bleachers for the performance or rent a chair on-site for $3.

Waterville USA
For kids, there's no better way to spend a summer day than at the water park. Waterville USA is a massive park with thrilling slides, a relaxing lazy river, several pools, and spots for little kiddos to safely splash around. This 20-acre park has tons of water-based attractions for all ages, as well as a full amusement park for when you're ready to get out of the water. At the amusement park, there are go-karts, an arcade room, mini-golf, and carnival rides.

The abundant water all around Gulf Shores makes it a hotbed for water activities. Enjoy activities like diving, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and more along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and throughout inland waters. Getting out on the water is a fun exercise, relaxing, and gives you a chance to see local wildlife and pristine nature preserves. Visit the Little Lagoon, Wolf Bay, Oyster Bay, Bon Secour River, and Shelby Lakes.
