Gulf State Park
Gulf State Park offers three miles of pristine beachfront and about 6,500 acres of protected land. There are opportunities for hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and so much more. Enjoy some shade at the beach pavilion or have lunch in the park's picnic area.
The 25-mile paved Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is perfect for walking or biking, and the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier is a great spot to cast a line. There is also Lake Shelby, which offers opportunities to canoe, kayak, or paddleboard. Walk along with native flowers in the butterfly garden or visit the nature center with kids to learn about the local ecosystem.
