Coastal Bird

The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail is a collection of loop trails in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Dauphin Island, Mobile, and more. These trails offer unique opportunities to view local and migratory birds. Comprising a total of 200 miles in six major loops and more than 50 designated stops. Each stop along the route has a full description of the specific coastal habitat and the bird species that reside in the area.

The birding trail is along the main corridor of the migration route for more than 400 species of birds, making it a truly unique place to visit to see a diverse array of bird species. Trails are marked as easy and accessible to all skill levels. Attracting many migratory birds, the trail offers a unique experience any time of the year.

Birdwatching enthusiasts will also love the Annual John L Borom Alabama Coastal BirdFest, which takes place the first weekend of October when migratory birds are typically making their way through the area.
